Access Connections Mentoring Program
Join the Access Connections Mentoring Program and help to challenge, motivate, inspire and empower the next generation of undergraduate students.
The Access Connections Program connects University of Melbourne undergraduate students who are under-represented in higher education with mentors from our alumni community.
In light of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, the University is clear about its responsibility to do everything it can to reduce rates of infection in the community. The health and wellbeing of our alumni and students is of paramount importance to the University. We therefore ask everyone undertaking mentoring programs to exercise appropriate precaution when scheduling meetings. It is our recommendation that meetings are conducted online using web conferencing software such as Zoom.
For full details of the University’s response to Coronavirus (COVID-19) visit our dedicated information page.
For Alumni Mentors
Signing up as a mentor is a simple process and only takes a few minutes. We accept registrations any time of the year. Once you register we will contact you to advise on the next steps in the mentoring process.
"Access Connections is a fantastic way to connect with students and be part of their evolving careers. It's a hugely positive program, I think everyone with a bit of spare time should give mentoring a try!"

“With such great matching, my mentor and I were completely at ease to get down to big questions straight away. I can’t recommend this program more, and the insight I have gained is invaluable as I embark on life after university. I feel so much more confident and prepared, while also knowing that I have someone with industry experience who I can meet up with for more wisdom for years to come.”
